I have heard good things about Rocket From the Tombs and Television too. Alas, I have not seen either group live.
Still waiting for a full Complete reunion.
remember all those band reunions?

Shit,
Even the bouncers were blazin' during their set.
did they play "whippin' post"? that's my fav.
Just in case you are not being sarcastic, no. They didn't play that song. I don't think I've ever heard that song by them assuming that is one of their songs.
They played Spiderland all the way through, then Glenn and Rhoda and finished with King's Approach.

14'Whipping Post' is the only request that is always acceptable to heckle a band with.

Saw Rocket on their tour and they were amazing. Richard Lloyd was an inspired choice to sit in for Peter Laughner -- he and Cheetah threw fire back and forth all night -- and it's the best thing David Thomas has done in years. I'm cautiously optimistic about the new album.
Television were real fine when I saw them at the NoisePop thing in Chicago, but I've been told they're massively inconsistent from night to night, and with Lloyd saying he isn't going to play with them anymore, I wouldn't put much stock in future excellence.
Elsewhere, the Stooges were brilliant live. On record ... well, I'm sure everyone involved had fun. Let's leave it at that.
Mission of Burma are the most consistently strong live band at work today -- seem 'em four times since the reunion, and each show has been even more impressive than the last. Truly inspiring stuff, and I think OnOffOn and The Obliterati are both damn fine albums. Long may they run.
Running neck in neck with Burma are Radio Birdman. Seriously -- saw them twice since Zeno Beach came out, and they blew the roof off each time. Amazing energy, and Deniz Tek is still a force to be reckoned with as a guitarist and songwriter, while Rob Younger howls magnificently. Zeno Beach was a real good record, too -- different than the old stuff, but fine songs played with conviction, and that's jake with me.
The Pixies were better than I expected -- Kim Deal was having much fun, and damn but David Lovering is a great drummer. I hope they don't make another album, though, I just can't see it working.
The New York Dolls aren't really the New York Dolls anymore, but hearing David Johansen sing the old songs like he meant it was a great night out, and the album wasn't embarassing. And I'm glad to see Syl Sylvain getting a paycheck.
Gang Of Four's record was kind of pointless. Not bad, just pointless. Didn't see 'em live, but I heard good things.
Heard a bootleg of the MC5/DKT show in Detroit, and those guys must have been back on heroin the day they decided having Evan Dando sing with them was a good idea. Mark Arm sounded OK, though, and while Wayne Kramer has turned into a major dick these days, I'm glad Dennis Thompson and Michael David got to do a reasonably well paid victory lap. Don't know if I'd pay to witness it, though.
I was never a big Dinosaur Jr. fan, but the new album was a lot better than I expected. Didn't catch the show, though.
And Violent Apathy? Now THAT was a reunion. Just like the old days, only without the pit. Too bad only a few dozen people in Michigan saw it.

RFTT was mindblowingly good. Still can't believe the luck that we got to open for them.
Recently, MoB were very good (live especially), and I was very pleased with the Sebadoh reunion show.
Other than that, I usually skip these things. Most of these bands that reunited didn't mean much to me in the first place.
Hey. My name's Josh.

17Silver Apples started touring again in 2007. Did anyone here see them? I was lucky enough to see them, in St Louis in the early/mid 90s, and was blown away.

18Camper Van Beethoven and American Music Club were my favourite reunions, easily.

19Didn't Negative Approach do a whole bunch of reunion shows? Was that any good?
