thanks dude... oscar may be celestially humping frida as i type. it's kinda crazy how bad it feels considering they're not the same species as us... but there's a spark there in their eyes and it's a great loss when it's gone. been trying to sleep for the last couple of hours but finally had to get outta bed cause all i can think about is... well.

when i was a freshman in high school i had a brittany spaniel die slowly from similar symptoms and according to the vet he had hep C of all things...we think he got it from the squirrels stealing his food...that was the only thing we could think of...

but his symptoms were the same as Oscar's...

i am so sorry, i hope you get another kitty and soon...there's lots that need a good home and people who care as much you obviously do...

salut Oscar...

Salut Bill! it seems we have a theme going of cats with people names dying - frida, bill, oscar. next time i'm naming my cat whiskers... or boots. that's rough about the puppers.... it's bad enough when yr cat dies - a bucket of tears - but a dog? that's at least two buckets.

i am curious as to what killed oscar as well. it's just so weird and unexpected. the day before yesterday he wasn't that bad at all, just sleepy but he ate in the morning (tho not at night) and let a massively healthy looking turd. the day before that he was in full force. it wasn't until tonight (well, technically last night now) that he took a turn and wasn't able to hold himself up at all. i just don't get it.

RIP Oscar the Cat

Kenoki, you have my sincerest condolences. My cat Jasper passed away under similar circumstances- it turned out to be diabetes. Kidney failure from the diabetes is what caused his symptoms, similar to Oscar's, and did him in. I had to shoot him up twice daily, under the nape of his neck. The last six months of his life were heartbreaking.

If any of you notice your cat drinking and urinating more, as well as any other cats of another gender losing sexual interest in your cat (diabetes gives an "off" odor other cats can detect), take your cat to the vet. Diabetes can be managed. Kidney failure, however, cannot.

All the best to you in this time of loss.
