>>congratulations to all the cubs fans here.

yes

the marlins/cubs series should be great

>>me, i'm back on the east coast praying for the red sox tomorrow night.

i was happy to see the rsox win, but only b/c it means they have to play another game

a truly epic playoff series, as ugly as the a's have been at times. i hope both starters throw to their potential this evening.

i suppose the giants/marlins series was almost as good, but i wanted the giants to win. you can't run thru pudge.

A glimmer of hope for those of you who loathe the Fox Sports commentary: I've heard rumors that 720 AM is attempting to synchronize its delay with that of the television broadcast. This would prevent you from hearing insightful and unbias comments such as, "Aside from those first two early runs, Hampton has really been in control of this cub offense," or "Franco has had two of the best at-bats against Wood this whole game (while he was still 0-2)." Fortunately we will hear no more undue praise of Atlanta, but rest assured it will be the same mindless banter and tasteless cell-phone antics in the Cubs/Marlins series. Can any cubs fans out there verify if this radio rumor is true?
be good or be good at it....

congratulations to all the cubs fans here.

I truly can not belive what happened.
I went to a friend's apartment assuming the obvious, and at about the 5th inning went to the Bob Inn to watch the end. When It happened, we screamed for about 10 minutes then headed towards the eye of the storm at Wrigley. It was just as good as any Bulls win down there. Millions of people out on the streets. Even the cops were in to it.
I got so drunk I could barely drive.
I still can't believe it.

i absolutely despise those sportscasting turds on fox. whenever fox has a game, i mute the tv and just listen to 720am (i've never had problems with a delay). ron santo is out right now, and steve stone is filling in for him, but listening to pat hughes needle him is pretty damn enjoyable. last night, for instance, stone was making some excuse for not having read any of the faxes on the air, and pat says, "all you have to do is reach over...grab the papers...and read them." and he said it so matter-of-factly that i laughed for about five minutes because of it.

in any case, i infinitely prefer 720's broadcast. not only do they include the 7th-inning stretch, which fox notably omits, but they also repeat the calls faster than those fucksticks on fox, and they don't display annoying propensities to dwell on the opposing team.

regards,
jet.

It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for Tom B. His idiocy is unparalleled by any current broadcaster. Last night Steve Lyons and Al Leiter were in the booth. They had some insightful things to say, but they were diluted by Tom's usual mindless banter.

I'm watching the little ESPN gamecast at work here while the Red Sox mess with my emotions.

I'll be cheering for Cubbies come 8 pm, but if it comes down to the World Series, I think the Red Sox will dominate....and then the Bostonians will probably burn down their own city in celebration.
