I've logged some hours on a 50 Plus, I like it. I think it actually sounded best at the "idiot" setting, all the knobs all the way up. The EQ adds a lot of gain. Bridging the channels can get some nice sounds too.

I played that amp a little bit. Unfortunately, I had to do it at work, knowing that everyone can hear me play, it made me uncomfortable. I also played it through some Marshall 4X12, and not my beloved 2X15.
It sounded thin relatively to my YBA 1 (which I play at home through the 2X15), I don't know if it's the cabinet or the amp itself. I believe it was the amp, because I played different amps with similar cabs and they sounded way more full.
The guy wants 640USD for it.
I think I'll skip it and try to buy an Ampeg V4/V2 on ebay.

great amps, though that one is way overpriced - i bought one in 2005 for £95.

That's not typical at all for anywhere outside the UK, where they can occasionally be found in used shops or at boot sales by people who don't know what they are. Look anywhere with int'l shipping possibilities and you're talking USD 500-ish easily.
