Agreed.

But Andy Gill is one of my favorite guitar players of all time, and I love those GOF records so much, so Gang of Four it is.

Wire wins this one. Much as I really do love Gang of Four, and as much as that first record absolutely knocked me over from the moment I first heard it, there’s something more durable and timeless about Wire.

That’s not a slight in any way, but Wire’s gonna win about 99% of the time in these polls for me. The first 3 records are pretty unfuckwithable.

I'm a huge Andy Gill fan but Wire were consistently good across their entire career. GoF lost me at Songs of the Free.
