That’s pretty good advice, I think. I need to watch it myself.

Is The Highwomen considered more folk/Americana? I listened to part of it, it's pretty good.
Porter Wagoner is worth checking out, I got an album from the library once called Out of the Silence Came A Song: The Somber Sounds of Porter Wagoner. It's full of all these dark songs about murder, insanity, loneliness, etc, it's great.

go to Robert's Western World.
Real country. Dudes that can play
Awesome place. I try to go every time I find myself in Nashville (which isn't often). A goddamn gem.

I always liked Caitlin Rose. Probably not cool, but I don't know about that stuff!

A bunch of young black women are taking over country music. Y'all should check some of these folks out:

I will happily toast a cool glass of chardonnay to every soccer mom who is as psyched about Brandi Carlile as I am. The new record isn't quite as good as the last one though.

She is one of my fiancee's favorites. We've seen her live 3 times together. Haven't heard the new one yet, but I did like 'Right on Time' when I heard it.

John Hinckley Jr got it on the action with a song that sounds like a Bakersfield Ween b-side. Sorry for the Spotify link.
