One of the things that I use these cheap ass online games for is to try new things. I tend to play tight on 3rd and have been looking to play a few more hands. I’ve since learned that the hands I’ve chosen to do this with may not be the *right* types of hands, but regardless, at this point, I have opened and we shall deal with it. Looking back I would fold this in the future.

Fourth Street: ($2) (3 players)
K 2 A 4 WillGraham bets $0.40
Xx Xx 3 8 OMARTUGGY calls $0.40
Xx Xx 8 7 waytoocool calls $0.40

I hold two hearts, so that makes me feel a bit better. This is one of those spots that gets me choked up - do I want to concede that I’m not as strong as I have previously hinted? I guess a check/call in this spot suggests I paired my four? Is that so bad?

Fifth Street: ($3.20) (3 players)
K 2 A 4 4 WillGraham bets $0.80
Xx Xx 3 8 5 OMARTUGGY calls $0.80
Xx Xx 8 7 9 waytoocool calls $0.80

Now I’m repping Aces up, I have two fours that block a potential straight for one opponent and the other one sorta bricked.

Sixth Street: ($5.60) (3 players)
K 2 A 4 4 5 WillGraham checks
Xx Xx 3 8 5 J OMARTUGGY checks
Xx Xx 8 7 9 T waytoocool checks

This is a weird street. I’m still saying I have Aces up. I guess I’m hoping I can draw to the wheel or a 6/7 low for cheap as possible because 789T is not going anwhere.

Seventh Street: ($5.60) (3 players)
K 2 A 4 4 5 7 WillGraham bets $0.80____WillGraham raises to $2.40
Xx Xx 3 8 5 J Xx OMARTUGGY calls $0.80____OMARTUGGY folds
Xx Xx 8 7 9 T Xx waytoocool raises to $1.60____waytoocool calls $0.80

Total pot: $11.20 (Rake: $0.40)

Showdown:
WillGraham shows K 2 A 4 4 5 7 (HI: a pair of Fours; LO: 7-5-4-2-A)
waytoocool shows 4 2 8 7 9 T 6 (HI: a straight, Six to Ten; LO: 8-7-6-4-2)
WillGraham wins $5.40
waytoocool wins $5.40

Final Thoughts:
In the video I think it through and talk about having a 75 and wondering if I could be up against a better low here and decided I wasn’t. The three bet is interesting. Not sure if I should do that, like, is an 86 really going to call two more knowing he’s going to likely have to pay another one on the last go round? Also, Brandon points out the check around on 6th really suggests weakness. I guess I’m wondering if that three-bet is worth it as I only get called by a better hand, imo.

Brandon likes the call - we want to bring in as many people because the 8 blocks both low card possibilities (especially if he has a pair) and two-way hand possibilities (blocking a straight in one direction) and if the Queen tags along we can be in a High High Low situation where we get to bloat the pot. Once the Queen 3 bets, we want to get money in there. HOWEVER, once the eights fold, we should go into call mode because now we are in Low Low High with us being on the low side.

Raising is only a good decision if we have seen the Q♥7♣ fold in a spot like this. We have three overs to the 2♥3♥ so we may be able to pick up some equity with pair cards, but if the Queen doesn’t fold, then it is pointless.

Fifth Street: ($7.10) (3 players)

5 7 6 2 3 Q WillGraham calls $0.80
Xx Xx Q 7 T 6 OMARTUGGY calls $0.80

I noted that two sixes are dead, but all of the fours are live. Therefore, he could have a wheel here OR at best have a Seven Perfect. In either case, I am behind.

Seventh Street: ($11.90) (3 players)
Xx Xx 2 3 9 A Xx Dez4prez checks
5 7 6 2 3 Q 2 WillGraham checks
Xx Xx Q 7 T 6 Xx OMARTUGGY checks

Total pot: $11.90 (Rake: $0.40)

WillGraham shows 5 7 6 2 3 Q 2 (HI: a pair of Twos; LO: 7-6-5-3-2)
OMARTUGGY shows 9 6 Q 7 T 6 5 (HI: a pair of Sixes)
Dez4prez wins $5.75
OMARTUGGY wins $5.75

Final Thought:

Brandon said I should bet 7th. My assumption is that he thinks the check from A239 means they didn’t hit their low and instead I am actually in a High-High-Low situation where I am definitely getting the low. I was squeamish about my low, assumed it would go check, check, bet call call. In any case, I was correct, he had a 7 perfect.

The reasoning from Brandon is that all of the Aces are live and he called 3 bets on 3rd, so its likely that the Ace paired him and thus, his check is out of fear being against a straight or two pair from the other opponent. IF we had seen more Aces, it leans us more towards a check as he is less likely to have a pair of Aces and more likely to have the nice low.

This is a bad bet. Our range is weak even though our hand is decent. When we bet we turn our hand face up. In addition, their card is very good for them. If we had a typical steal we would be afraid of the three low cards and check, so when we bet, we are telling them “we have aces” which is also not good since they can then play perfectly against us.

We should note that the Xx Xx 4 just limped, which suggests a very weak range, and we know spades are dead. The Qs also limped but they were looking at a table showing all low cards behind them, so they likely have a pair of Queens and didn’t want to put too much money in there on 3rd.

My question here was whether or not to raise. I knew that I was likely behind the Queen, but I do have a pair and three low cards. a raise here is good because the other card going low bricked (if he caught a low card we can over call) and it means that on 5th (a big bet street) we will likely act last unless we pair up or hit an Ace or a King and there are many more pairs and Aces than Kings (two are dead) which means we may get a free one.

Final thoughts:

The only other decision is 5th street - not sure if with four low cards and a pair I can raise. Brandon suggests it. I think it helps that spades are dead and we don’t expect the 9 to have helped him.

So two Aces limped, along with an 8 and a Q. This tells us that we definitely have the best three card low hand. Most likely the Queen is a pair of Queens and our Aces are dead to pair up, which is lame, but we can still build a big pot if we can manage to keep people in.

I tried to do a check raise - my hope was that A2 would bet, I would get calls from at least A7 and Q3 and then raise. Unfortunately it did not happen. HOWEVER, one must remember that these were all limps preflop, so its less likely that the Ace is going to bet. Furthermore, look at our hand - we have two suited wheel cards, so people will most likely think we are strong even if we were the bring in. Therefore, we should bet our hand here.

This is a potential check raise spot. The A23 should be betting here and the 89T, A7J, Q39 should fold (and we don’t care if they come along!) and then we can put in the raise because we should still be ahead. All of the 4s and all of the 6s are live!

Tempting to raise here because A236 has been so passive we should believe him and assume that he doesn’t have a four. When he JUST CALLS after we call, he definitely doesn’t have a 6 perfect.

Final Thoughts:

Brandon was sad I didn’t bet on the end. I guess my question is whether or not this is a bet/fold? With all of the fours being live and seeing A236 out there knowing I have a 7, not sure how to react to a raise.

I wasn’t sure if I should open this hand or not. Per Brandon I should as sevens are live. Even if the Ace 3 bets us, we are in decent shape. The key point is we want to open because we are the first to act. If someone had limped in front of us and thus, we have a multi-way pot brewing, THEN we can allow it to be multiway and try to see 4th/5th as cheap as possible. So the idea is if we have a hand that we want to make heads up and we have a realistic way of doing so (opening with only a few people left to act) we should. If it has been limped in front of us, we want to see 4th for cheap.

We are in a situation where the Ace limped, therefore we cannot put them on Aces. Therefore, we should assume he has four low cards and we have the best high hand. We made a mistake on 3rd that allowed the 3d to limp along and our hand still prefers to want to be heads up so this is a spot to not fold, not call but RAISE to knock out the 3dQh (bricked on 4th) and get heads up if possible. Instead I made a mistake and folded.

My thoughts here are that the 10c isn’t a big deal unless he has a four flush. The 82o could be four low cards (although the 2’s are live) but i would still have a better low draw, it’s only one bet, I’m closing the action and I can see one more street.

Brandon feels like maybe the best move here is a fold, but if the Tc was unsuited, it would be a much better opportunity for a call as 82o is not scary at all and he’s drawing to an 8 and we are drawing to a 7. If he had 72o it’s a fold.

I am now drawing to a better low than 8s2dAs my goal is to check and think its gonna go check check bet call call. My fear is once it gets to me, how confident can I be without closing action that it won’t be another raise.

Brandon says that the bet from 8TccKd is weird, but the raise from the As is to be expected once a bet happens in front of him. If I fold here, it isn’t folding too much equity. Its a weird spot, and BSH leans toward fold. However, he also thinks I can be confident that it won’t get three bet/capped. Its a four flush at best, maybe a pair of tens but he shouldn’t get crazy.

All fives are live and I could have the best low. I’m in see you at the river mode. We haven’t seen any fives of sixes. The three is very dead, so he definitely has a low now and it’s possible he has a better one than me!

BSH contents that I could have a wheel too and it may be worth a raise in case middle guy doesn’t have a flush. It steals equity. This is because he checked which shows weakness. Of course, once he raises, its call down mode.

Seventh Street: ($11.70) (3 players, 1 all-in)

Might be worth a bet on my end according to BSH.

My question here is whether or not this is a raise on my part, I feel like I don’t want to push people out.

BSH says with two sixes dead, its close but probably better to make sure everyone stays in. If you raise, the Jack calls, the Ten may fold. Its much better to have two high hands in there because with two sixes dead, you’re not likely to win the high side, so keep them in to see if you can develop a nice low. If I had an Ace it is a raise.

I’m most worried about 5c7c and now clubs and hearts are dead. One of my threes and one of my sevens is dead. BSH states that I shouldn’t be too worried about 5c7c due to the way the hand played pre flop. The J limps in EP with low cards behind, then a T calling with more low cards behind are legit hands. The 5c didn’t raise. The 6h raised, so him catching a 3c is more dangerous than anything else. If 6h3c is the first better, it is worth thinking about a raise to push out everyone else as I have three overs to the 3c (not worried about sixes as they are dead).

Fifth Street: ($5) (5 players)

I stated in my video I was surprised that J8J checked, but Brandon thinks they should never lead if they have trip jacks. He thinks a bet there only works if there are strong ranges after that will call and then get a raise from a made low so you can put on the gas. However, in between 635 and J8J are a bunch of bricked out hands, so there is no money to be made.

We are in a “see you at the river” situation - we cannot fold even though fives are dead.

Sixth Street: ($9) (5 players)
Xx Xx J 8 J Q KickShorty checks____KickShorty calls $0.80
Xx Xx T 2 K J infinite23 checks____infinite23 calls $0.30 (all-in)

Xx Xx 6 3 5 9 ybr88888 checks____ybr88888 calls $0.80
2 5 4 8 3 8 WillGraham bets $0.80

Now I know they don’t have three jacks! It would be nice if I could manipulate this situation to push with a made low and a pair of eights. If 6359 bets, I have to raise (we know nobody else is very strong!) because I have high equity and a made low and the blockers suggest everyone else is not very strong. Just a call from my one feared opponent means that I am probably ahead for low.

Seventh Street: ($11.70) (4 players, 1 all-in)
Xx Xx J 8 J Q Xx KickShorty checks
Xx Xx 6 3 5 9 Xx ybr88888 checks
2 5 4 8 3 8 9 WillGraham checks

BSH says I can still bet here. If I had 86, no bet. But 85 I can bet.
