These injuries are what i was referring to before but I didn't read them as being completely random. Each injury occurs after he kills someone who, in terms of the story, is innocent.
The police officer at the beginning - he cuts his wrists.(where is he at the beginning btw? He is being arrested but for what? Could he be where the bodies and money are found at the beginning? That would work with his being a personification of death)
When he confronts Moss he shoots a bystander in the throat, then he gets shot.
When he kills Carla - the crash.
Most everyone else he kills (that I recall) is someone who lives violently. (with the exception of the fella who's car he takes near the start).
Makes sense to me to not view these things as random acts of chance.

i'm not 100% sure what happened in the end, but I really liked this movie and thought it was beautifully filmed. I would like to see it again.

I was able to follow what Earwicker meant, no problem. Note that he says "MOST everyone he kills is someone who lives violently," not "ALL those he kills."

Eh, he also said "else"...
