I'm cut. At about age 5 some scar tissue from the procedure started giving me problems and I had to have a surgery to remove this. It wasn't very peasant if I remember correctly, and could have been avoided had I not been cut.

That's fair do's, I doubt you'd find anyone to criticise you but would you criticise someone in the same situation who said yes and got it snipped?

The medical reason of those few I know who had the snip was some problem I don't know the name of that involves the foreskin not growing at the same rate as the rest of the cock and so the young un finds the hood covers the top of the head and finds it very painful to pull said hood back to allow pissing.
In all cases this was pre sexual activity (as far as I am aware anyhow).
One snip that they'll never remember and they'll never have that bother.
What's the problem??
You seem to be missing the point entirely, if you'll pardon me for saying so.
I don't think anybody has a problem with snipping for medical reasons. The problem that people (me included) have with infant circumcision is limited entirely to those carried out for religious or traditional reasons.
Unless you have a specific childhood (ha!) medical problem related to your foreskin, removal of the foreskin should be a decision made by the foreskin-holder, not the parents.

That's a pretty hot topic in these parts, actually:
Here's an article detailing the spread of herpes via ye olde bite-off.

I think I'd have the same response to a circumcised penis as to a dog with ears cropped or tail docked:
Oh you poor thing! Who did this to you? Poor little guy.
Of course I would try not to say that out loud.

nope. there are far worse ways to fuck up your kids. like dressing your twins in matching outfits. like breastfeeding until they are 5. this is pretty minor by comparison. not bad enough to condem, just not for me. I would wonder at the reasoning though.

Thank fucking god I will never have to make this descision, since I will NOT be having more children. Genital mutilation is fucked, but honestly, when they come out of the womb, you have NO idea how they're going to turn out when they grow up, so I think I'd leave well enough alone, just in case my son was gay - I would NEVER want to deprive him the plesure of docking.

are you referring to the skin bridge? i have seen images and they don't look fun.
this happened to me but it was diagnosed quickly. the doc had to do a touch up but i don't remember anything. i was a month old. my mom didn't even tell me about it until last month. i never noticed.
i had my own son circumcised, but i don't know if i would have done that if i knew my own history. sure enough, his doctor did a shabby job and it looks like half the foreskin was not removed. i really hope he doesn't get a skin bridge.
i also hope he doesn't grow up and read this
