I do this with Ozone's limiter all the time. Get your limiting to sound good, then adjust its output to hit your LUFS target. Master fader always stays at 0.
Exactly what I do.

I have two limiters that I like to use. Neither one of them has level output control. They only have gain input and gain matching (though, I find the gain matching to not be useful, unless the output is too hot).

I did another search and found this randomly suggested on reddit: https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/P ... GainSuite/

Intermittent clicks and pops on playback? I’ve been watching performance and there’s hardly any CPU usage when this comes up. I started a new project and played back 3 mono tracks and it still does it sometimes.

If I rewind to the spot where it last clicked, that area is clean.

I'm not sure if that's really related to Reaper. I've been using it for ever and never had any problems that were not either coming form plugins or the interfaces.
do you have another interface you could check with, or the other way around, do you have another DAW you could use to see if the pops are actually caused by Reaper.

Thanks, I’ll look into the RME Digiface and Ferrofish pulse. I’m not sure if it’s Reaper per se, but I moved computers fairly recently and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was something in the RME or Reaper preferences out of whack.

Now that I’m digging into the other stuff, I see ADAT cables are sus as well.

Are you doing some sort of sample rate conversion on the fly? If you load 44.1 tracks into a 48 project, you'll sometimes get issues like this.
Or the latency of your interface is set too low. Happens with mine all the time, especially with certain plugins (cough cough Ozone).

I don’t think so. Everything has been recorded at 96/24 bit since the beginning with a buffer at 256. My laptop is some new gaming job I purchased this year so it should be fast enough.

I fuxd with the settings until 2 am last night and couldn’t get it to click at me on playback, hopefully whatever the hell I did fixed it.

Hey, if I’m only recording music with Reaper, do I need a wsdr set up? I can’t get a clear answer. I set all this shit up on my old laptop when I knew even less than I do now and I had it going well enough, but something must have been screwed up when I got that new laptop.

Have you tried using a portable install to see if the issue carries over to the portable install?

Whats that?

For pop and click issues, I'd first look at plugins to be the issue. bypass all your session plugins and see if there are clicks. If not, turn them on track by track until their are clicks. If you are working in 24/96 and have some plugin set to do high oversampling, that may be your issue. UA Native plugins are also very very badly optimized and IMO, not to be used at all. They aren't special in any way so just find a publisher that makes something like it. Next I't look at clock. if you have something slaved via ADAT or AVB make sure it is getting the clock from the main unit and that they both aren't set to Internal. If there is word clock, use it. Next I'd look at just raising your buffer. If there are still pops and clicks, I'd maybe start looking at the Computer. Make sure there aren't a bunch of background tasks, or a million tabs in your Web Browser... bitcoin mines etc. taking your Trons away from the MCU.
