If I was going to sell my Moog Prodigy and Rogue and just have one newer Moog, which do you think I should go with? Matriarch? Grandmother? Sub 25?
It's mostly just for messing around at home, and I'm not really much of a keyboard player tbh so I'm trying to slim down the synths I picked up over the last few years.
I am in the same boat as someone who likes to fuck around with synths, but don't really play them. I would go either Grandmother or Sub 25.

You could flip the two moogs, get an East Beast and a West Pest for two very different shades of monosynth and probably have enough money left over to pay your rent (or buy more, different, cool things).

Recommend me an inexpensive reamp box, or hack. Mono is fine. Thanks!

Any passive DI run the other way works. I also use TC Electronics Teleports, they are made for sending guitar signals down xlr long distance. also work as a reamp box. They are like $40 for the send and receive (sold separately) boxes.

I would hang onto the Prodigy and get something that sounds very different from it with the profits from the Rogue. There are a lot of little tabletop boxes with cool filters.

To be really frugal (and I am) couldn't one capture the signal with a looper, then flip it all around and feed it back thru the same box..
Good tip, thanks!

I used to just plug my computer IO directly into an amp. It is fine, I just had to dumb down the level a bit. if you are trying to preserve any specific tone it's probably recommended to try to match that impedance, but do what you gotta do. A simple DI box works fine for it. Just get a XLRF to 1/4" cable and feed the amp with the 1/4" out of the DI. Lately I have been taking all guitar recordings into my DAW with a DI as well as a mic on the amp. I have been mixing the DI signal run through amp sims with the mic signal and its fun. Fun to take a clean bass from an amp and blend it with the bass killing a fake Tone King or a vox or something silly like that.

here's my little tech question from my day:
if I wanted to make the boost volume of the TS50B circuit adjustable would I simply replace the 6K8 resistor on the left with a, say 10K, pot. is it simply paralleled to the other 6K8 resistor when the boost is on and the 220N/2K2 passes more high frequencies when the boost is on?

Put the pot above the left-most 6k8. That way when it's turned to 0 and you turn on the boost, it's the same as the stock configuration. Basically you want to increase that parallel resistance to decrease the amount of boost.
10 kohm may not work to give you enough control. You'll probably have to use something a lot higher, like 100k or even 500k.
