funniest thing I heard today was about that guy from NSync:
"I don't see how anyone would be surprised that he's gay. The guy looks like he takes fashion tips from Bruno off the Ali G Show."

After reading this, I got excited to try it on my wife. The phone conversation went something like:
Me: Hey, honey.. what does a gay horse eat?
Her: Haa-aay!
Me: You've heard that one?!
Her: Oh, yeah, I've been telling that one for a long time.
Me: Really?!
Her: Dude. Yeah. I think that was my joke in high school.
Me: Really?!
Her: I may have
invented that joke.
Me: Well, goddamn it.
Her: I'm pretty funny.
Big letdown. Next time, give me something new, Nerbs.

I had dinner at a Mexican restaurant tonight with my father and grandmother. At one point we were discussing one of my cousins, whose wife recently gave birth to a little girl. I have not yet seen this baby.
"It's the cutest little thing," said my grandmother.
"It really is," added my dad. "At first, it kinda looks like it might have, you know, a monkey face, but the longer you look at it, the cuter it gets."

Has anyone in the UK been watching Armando Ianucci's "Time Trumpet"? It's Armando Ianucci looking back on the years ahead of us with nostalgia (ie. it is supposed to have been written in the future).
I've been really enjoying it:

Will Carruthers wrote: I have often thought that there are strong arguments that music inhabits a semiological realm which, on both ontogenetic and phylogenetic levels, has developmental priority over verbal language. Sadly, I have no idea what it actually means. I just think it.

Yesterday, but anyway, Anne Widdecombe opposing pro-female quotas for the election of Members of Parliament:

Crude, but effective.
