A man trying to intimidate a woman by threatening her with violence because he doesn't like her mouth. That's no less dumb than noticing the dudes being assholes outside your window are Mexicans. It's the same level of fucked up to you.

Yeah, he made a mistake. That's why I called it a mistake.

So you gonna quit hiding behind it and explain why his posted threat should be taken 100% seriously but your posted repeated racist slurs should not?

Or are you going to stand by all those sterling comments over the years? All that clever drunk-indian-lazy-mexican stuff you posted?

Seems I recall at the height of it you were taking it upon yourself to "loosen up" the place, remember? But somehow, you seem to have changed your tune. Posts are a Very Serious Matter now. How'd that happen?

Indians aren't drunk? Hillbillies aren't dumb? The French don't stink? Christians aren't dorks? Russians aren't evil? People from Indiana aren't retarded?

Yes, I stand by every one of those statements and jokes. We can do some scientific study if you like.

I never said Mexicans were lazy, find me a time where I said Mexicans were lazy. Another asshole making shit up.

I said they steal car stereos and beat their women, which they do, all the fucking time.

Where do you think I grew up? I was one of 5 white kids in my high school. I can make all the fucking cracks I want.

By the way, since when do I take certain things seriously blah blah.
Oh it's just a mistake blah blah. He didn't MEAN to threaten her, he was just angry.
Fuck that shit man, nobody but a fucking asshole makes that sort of 'mistake' I am sorry, but it's fucked. Real fucked.
The fact this dickhead hasn't been called out harder on something like that boggles my mind.
It's not funny, it's not cute it's not a simple case of it being a mistake, it's not anything but a fucked up thing a fucked up asshole person the type of which is usually not found around here would say.

I could care less who of you thinks this dickhead is cool or whatever. Read it again. Seriously. That's the sort of thing that should never go on around here.

Mandroid said 'mexicans' and she's attacked with an entire thread of people on her case. This asshole pulls that shit and I somehow am the jerk for saying 'Wait a second, fuck that shit'

You assholes wanna be the most bullshit PC drones on the planet, you fight for the title...as long as it ha to do with someone almost using some racial langauge. Someone says some blatant ass fucked up shit to a top level female poster here and 'oh, let it slide...he didn't; mean it...she was asking for it by saying 'Mexican'

Sometimes this bullshit liberal college mindwash a lot of you fuckers have going on really bugs the shit out of me. You are doing nobody any favors. By assigning certain people as 'off limits' to ridicule from certain other people what are you doing? exactly what you profess to hate most, dividing people. Putting people in columns.

Guess what? Mexicans make jokes about white people. Black dudes make jokes about Mexicans. English people make jokes about Scottish people. Scots make jokes about the Irish. Everyone makes jokes about Puerto Ricans and the Polish.

It's ok. It's really ok.

You are hanging on to some seriously antiquated thinking.

Maybe you need more variety in your circle or workplace. I know and work with all kinds of people and everyone pretty much agrees that everyone's cool with everyone.

and it's ok to say 'fucking Mexicans' if some Mexicans wake you up. Seriously.

Making a joke is one thing. I get a kick out of some racial-based humor as long as it's not really mean-spirited. I consider jokes like that to be poking fun at the stereotype rather than affirming reality, and I have no problem separating those two things in my mind. I trust that other friends of mine are able to make that distinction as well.

For example, one time I walked into the kitchen of a Mexican friend of mine as he was slicing cheese for some snacks for us to eat. I stopped in the doorway and said, "Oh shit! A Mexican with a knife!" He replied, "A racist German! What a surprise," and I laughed. That was cool because we both know and respect one another on a deeper level than that, so neither of took offense to it. I would never make a joke like that with some guy I hardly know because not knowing me, I'd expect him to be offended.

But running down an entire race of people in a serious manner, right to the face of a member of that ethnic group is something completely different. It's natural to slip occasionally and say something like that in anger--and I admit I've done so in the past--but those instances are certainly not moments I'd be proud of.

It's a free country and you can all say whatever you like to whomever you like, but it's up to you to deal with the consequences, which unfortunately may include losing a bit of respect in the eyes of others.

Yeah cuz you know how those Mexicans love stabbing people.

Now that I wanna see some of you college jelly brains respond to, go ahead let's hear it.
try and make sense of your screwy nonsense.

All the weird hardcore anti-racism over reaction speech to me reeks of people who have not had much contact with people of other races except maybe in real formal settings.

This is all pretty terrific since I spent my childhood defending Mexicans and Hmongs from the tormenting of the hicks in the Green Bay area.

The only reason I included what I said in the original post is that it was a moment where the TOTALLY WRONG thing came out of my mouth. I didn't mean to equate Mexicans to pieces of shit. I just put A+B together and it was a bad idea, and I immediately knew it and felt bad and would sound bad and that I wished I'd phrased if differently.

Jesus.

If I read this right; this isn't what she did at all. She was pissed at some people and describing it here. She used a descriptor. A very effective descriptor. Since when is 'Mexican' a derogatory term? If she called me a left-handed, wavy-haired piece of shit, would I have cause to be pissed? I'm left-handed, I have wavy hair. She thinks I'm a piece of shit. What's the problem?

When I tell people about tamale guy and say "Oh, he's this awesome Mexican guy that seems to know about every single bar on the Northside and stops there twice nightly to sell delicious tamales on the cheap," am I being racist?

She didn't do anything wrong.
I've seen the bridges burning in the night.
