I was too young when they were around to be embarrassed by the hairspray and affectations, but I really like the records.
There's nothing to be ashamed of. JLP made some force-of-nature records.

The Gun Club was dragged pretty fucking hard by several around here back in the day. I love ‘em tho, particularly the first record.

Are you supposed to feel guilty about liking The Police? I may be underdressed for this club….
I can understand why some folks on here would not like them, even hate them, but *guilty* for liking them? I think not.

I’m a fan.

Yeah that's a weird one.. at worst they're harmless. Probably the same sort of knuckle draggers who dunked on Roxy Music..

Bought Miami eons ago and didn't like it, never bothered to investigate further. I don't get them.

Not that kind of band but I will watch Band of Brothers over and over again despite it being bad and me not caring about American history. Maybe that's why I can like it?

All of those "Reasonably Sized Star" power pop one hit wonders from the early "80s. Tommy Tutone, Rick Springfield, The Outfield, even "The Waiting" by Tom Petty.

“Jessie’s Girl”? Jam. “Say It Isn’t So”? Jam. “Your Love”? Jam. Heck, “867-5301/Jenny” is not a bad song at all.

But if I need to feel guilty about liking “The Waiting,” I may as well go check myself into the Steve Hoffman Forums AOR folks home and start formulating an opinion on which Twickenham take of “I’ve Got a Feeling” is definitive.
