Actually, it suggests that plants are OK with other plants being killed, as long as it's going to feed somebody. Incidentally, that's the same standard I apply for the killing of other people.

been vegetarian for 8 + years now. my motivation was not animal rights but rather health reasons. i had a lot of stomach problems and so a friend suggested that i try a vegetarian diet since it had worked for her. i was never much a fan of meat anyway (my mom has tons of stories of how she used to try to trick me into eating meat when i was kids), so the transition was fairly painless and i felt a positive difference almost immediately.

personally, i like the lightness and energy of a good vegetarian meal as opposed to that heavy, bloated feeling one gets from meat. granted, i sometimes feel i could use a real good "stick your ribs" kind of meal but i find a hearty bowl of vegetarian chili does me good in such cases. also, i find that as a vegetarian i am much more conscious of what i eat and am far less likely to eat fatty, fried, fast-foody stuff. i was told recently by a health screnner that my cholesterol level is excellent, very low.

that's about all i have to say about it. really i don't think anyone should have to justify their reason for being vegetarian, no more than a meat-eater should have to justify themselves.

Crap because vegetarians can't seem to stop talking about being vegetarians. Blah blah blah. "Oh, I can't believe you are eating a poor cow, you sicko!" Well, believe it...I'm eating THIS cow and I'm gonna eat about 10,000 more before it's all said and done....I'm lookin to put a real dent in the cow population...
Plus it's kinda girly for a guy not to eat meat, I'm sorry it's true. I don't wanna live a life that dosen't include BBQ. What do you guys who don't eat meat do all summer? Garden? I mean come on, get that grill goin get some people over and it all falls into place. Whenever I meet a guy who won't eat meat I always assume he has some kind of mental problem, or he's gay.

About eating meat and BBQ and whatnot, yes it would seem I do. I suppose I should be ashamed of this? I'm not at all.
A lot of males these days seem to have zero male mentality, that's kinda what I'm getting at with all this stuff.
Sometimes it's pretty enjoyable to just chill the fuck out with all the PC shit and just be a regular guy.
