Great song.

NOFX until 1998 or so.
The Millencolin album Life on a Plate.
There are two Lagwagon albums I love.
Some part of me believes I am too African American (I am 70% Irish) to love the Aesop Rock album Bazooka Tooth (which is his best and most overlooked album) and various Anticon and Mush releases.
Probably other things I'm forgetting.

I really want to fuck guilt off, particularly in regards to music/art. It is fucking dumb.

I remember the fuss when Xysma stepped away from death metal and put out Lotto on Relapse. Absolutely no interest in their former selves, but I liked Lotto in spite of 'that kind of thing' not being me.

Appropriately enough, on Googling...

When it come to admitting bands in threads like these I prefer to plead the Maroon 5th amendment...

Placebo has always seemed like a 13-year old's idea of shocking rebellion (perhaps because 13-year old me thought "a friend with weed is a friend indeed, a friend with breasts and all the rest" rocked) but some of their stuff still sounds pretty good.

I'm guessing I'm probably not supposed to like the original recording of "Jesus Christ Superstar" with Ian Gillan playing Jesus. But I do. Will I be barred from entering the Big Party Upstairs due to this? Or most parties down here, come to think of it...

Wood Goblin wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 12:09 pm I thought about this thread after hearing a Lemonheads song on the radio and finding myself powerless to do anything about it.

I don’t like the band as a whole, but this is Details magazine-era Lemonheads we’re talking about. None of it should appeal to me, but more than none of it does.
It’s a Shame About Ray does not set a foot wrong. Even is kind of an honorary Australian too - writes songs about Sydney neighbourhoods and Alison’s Starting to Happen is about Alison from Smudge who worked at Waterfront for years. A band full of Sydney in-jokes. Good times
Hey now, "It's a Shame About Ray" is a great rekkid.

I'll even turn the radio up if the cover of Mrs Robinson comes on.
I know "...Ray" has the reputation for being their best album but of the four I own - those being "Lick", "Lovey", "...Ray" and "Come on Feel..." - I've always found it to be my least favourite. Compared to the others it's too relentlessly upbeat and lacks the darker edge that gives the other albums more of a well-rounded feel.

Paramore feels like Blink 182 for a different demographic. "Still Into You" however I'm quite into. The hook is uninspired but I like how it rounds off back into the verse. Fun song. Shows you that there is creativity lying about here and makes you wonder why they don't make more use of it.

First album is great. Vg songs and arrangements and a fine recording job by Brad Wood.

R Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly. Fucking brilliant record. If there is such a thing as a guilty pleasure, I guess this would be it.
