One of my favourite songs doesn't appear on any of the albums. It's only on the Japanese import of
Developer. The song is called
'Ogilvie'. Great, great song. I can listen to it on a loop. I wonder why it never made it onto an album. I guess it wouldn't have fit on
Developer but I don't think it would have been out of place on
Lifestyle.

I don't think of those tracks as "extra" tracks. To me, they are part of the album proper (I bought the Japanese disc instead of the US one when it was released.)

Do all the Matador albums have japanese versions with extra stuff? If it's a song that would fit on Lifestyle then I guess I better start looking for a copy...

What Pavement meant to me as a teenager, Silkworm is that to me as an adult times ten. "Xian Undertaker" makes The Band look like Pearl Jam.

I got really excited about hearing
a Silkworm song called "Filling All My Days".
Ouch.
This one really hurt.

Silkworm grows on you like a rash. I first bought firewater about 8 years ago after seeing/hearing What's Up Matador. I eventually owned all of their albums and would put them on often enough but I just considered them to be somewhere in my top 20 favorite bands or something. But somehow now, they make a lot more sense as I get older. They make a much better soundtrack to my late 20s than my early 20s. I drink more and have a better sense of humour than I used to.
Songs that I considered to be filler like Young and That's Entertainment are now the tracks that I can't stop playing. Amazing

I'd say the rash is the time between listens, and the music is the application of the at hand babypowder.

Nothing of any great import to add, only that earlier in spring tommydski made this astute post about
Firewater.

13. Drag The River
14. Killing My Ass

16. Don't Make Plans This Friday
Whether this hung in my subconscious as I recently revisited this album or I came to the same conclusion I really can't say but I've been playing the living shit hell out of these tracks recently. Don't Make Plans.. in particular is one I can't seem to leave alone. Magnificent. N/C.
