Funny that this thread was bumped as I was JUST thinking about it and thinking about this: In my seventeen-plus years as a parent, fourteen-and-a-half as a parent of two (and now with an addition four younger children), I've found that the biggest balancing act in parenting is when a child acts up and their sibling tells you about the behavior, you have to simultaneously do something about the misbehaving child's behavior while letting the tattling child know that nobody likes a fuckin' rat.

Yeah that is hard. Also on top of it, we have a 1.5yo who is just at that stage where she can start to inflict bodily harm but has zero empathy so she laughs about it. The 6.5yo is not taking too kindly to "she's just a baby, she hasn't learned not to do that yet." Especially because he's too damn smart and replies with "she's not a baby, she's a toddler!" That is like a situation where everyone is at fault and I just sigh and walk away.
