The last time I saw DC, Damon Che had put on some weight and was sipping soda (?) from a big-ass size Taco Bell cup between songs.

The new Don Cab has vocals on a few tracks.

FREAKY. Last night I had a dream I was listening to a Don Cab album and there were vocals on a song.

When the new one is good, it's really good, but when it's bad, it's real bad.

I've heard two songs from this new album. I enjoyed both....about 8 times in a row.

FUCKING RULES!

The drummer gets pissed after breaking his snare head, rips it off and throws it around. Storms off. Guitarist (now in battles) starts beat boxing the drums and keeps playing the song. The drummer comes back out with a new snare and finishes the set.
RAD

They broke up on tour over a fight for who get's shotgun technically. But I am sure there was a lot or pre issues that just boiled over. NOT RAD

I'm calling bullshit on Don Cab.

I bought Punkgasm yesterday. It's boring, rehashed shit. It's the same shit they did on the last record, which was basically bad covers of great songs that the original 8 versions of the band did previously.

They need to stop writing every song in 5 or 7. Non 4/4 does not automatically make your music interesting.

Che needs to learn another beat to play in 7 besides:

Also, after listening to him play basically the same 3 beats (the one in 7, the one in 5, and that half time one in 3 where he does the quick rolls on the hi hats with the snare on 3--he uses that one at least 4 times on the new record) over the course of 6 records, I've determined that everything he does, Neil Peart did first just not as loud and with a better ride cymbal.

Say what you want about Peart/Rush but if you've actually listened to them a lot you know I'm right. Damon Che jacks a lot of shit directly from Neil Peart.

Don Caballero you made 3 stellar records and a pretty good one. Nah, make that 4 stellar records. Then you called it quits. You were not crap.

Don Caballero feat. Damon Che you should never have uncalled it quits.

A friend of mine once said, "Fuck musicians who skate by on their past performances." That friend is right.

EDIT:

Also, I've seen the new version of the band twice. The first time was ok. The second time (less than a year later) was a completely different band, now a trio and it was horrible. I was almost embarrassed for them. It was a total disgrace to the awesome trio that was the American Don era.

Also, yes the new record has vocals on three songs and they're fucking stupid, don't kid yourself.

Wow, that's aggressive.

Especially for a Rush fan.

New Album Is Good.

It feels like it would slot in between For Respect and 2, with a handful of Thee Speeaking Canaries peppered in it.

That is all.
