This too is on point. Similar thought I had from a recent discovery: Grumpster's "Underwhelmed". Big, clean sound, but not too polished. Still with some punch and some rough edges.

Can't remember if I've posted this, but Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" has a really cool main riff, the combined guitar-bass thing creates a deep, driving groove, and the final chorus hits the spot.
The breakdown is typical Limp Bizkit cheese, and as usual Fred Durst is the worst part of anything he's in, but I listen to this and enjoy it.

Rarely see mention of this band, was turned on to them by a Santa Cruz skate video, loved their riffs.
My guilty pleasure: Deadsy. Only heard of them recently because I would never have heard of any band that toured with Korn. Saw them mentioned on a blog and checked them out. Vocals are goofy but in a way that's appropriate for their whole theme, and the combination of thick bass fuzz, Z-Tar and Numan/Enoesque synths really work. The lyrics are adequately literate for a young rich kid, and the overall feel and production creates something pretty unique for the NĂ¼-metal era that they came up in.
I can't imagine what it's like being the son of Cher and Gregg Allman! I do believe he has the key to Gramercy Park, and was probably born clutching it.

Interesting. Not bad. Reminds me of The Birthday Massacre, a rather unknown band an old friend liked.

I don't believe in guilty pleasures but I definitely bought the new Turnstile record. It bypasses various considerations that might otherwise get in the way of me liking very much of it. I also definitely like some of it. It's cute.

Generally indifferent w/ Turnstile, but someone set "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" to their big single and it totally rules:

It's basically has Helmet written all over it.

...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead
I'm a sucker for bands on Trance Syndicate. They fill a quasi-emo, quasi-Victorian-era void that my goth queer furry brain wants to hear. I like their stuff up to The Secret of Elena's Tomb (Neil Busch's departure probably had a big impact on their music).

Love their first record.

Trail of dead used to be awesome up until source tags.
But yeah, the debut record is the one
Trance syndicate is gold, yesterday I put Johnboy's pistolswing on the turntable. So awesome.
