I saw Chris Corsano perform a set nearby on Thursday night. Just him and a saxophonist (mit distortion), 25 minutes, one song. They started quiet and ended in an apocalyptic whirl. Reminded me somewhat of the Blue Humans records I have. I had to stitch my face back on afterwards.

I bought The Young Cricketer album and it is fine, though not as impressive.

Seeing him do the stuff on that album live and solo blew my mind. He is something else.

My appreciation of the record might be hampered due to my not being to turn it up loud whilst flatmates are in. I definitely like it, but need to listen to it more. I'll happily grab more of his records.

And the cricket theme for this one is brilliant.

Seems to be an amiable guy as well.

As Rimbaud III forewarned me, he looks about 13 years old.

Out of drummers I've seen live, Damon Che and Sim Cain would rank for me.

Amongst drummers I know this is the consensus.

He weirdly turns up as a session musician on this record a friend forwarded me recently:

Ducks - The Insect Trust

Check the drumbreak, it's totally overpowered! You can tell he's reigning it in for most of the track.

I've never seen him though.
