Fucking awesome, Redline.
Here's the second-hand story i mentioned earlier:
A friend of a friend (i know, that sounds like an urban legend, but i know the guy who's the subject of this story--i just happen to have friends who know him better than i) had $1300 burning a hole in his pocket and wanted to buy a nice, new guitar. Someone inexplicably referred him to Faust because of his Gibson collection.
Dude knocked on the door, and Faust opened the inside door, made a move to let Dude in, but suddenly backed off and shook his head, saying, "No, no, i don't like the looks of you." Flabbergasted, Dude promptly marched over a few blocks to Warp Drive Music and plunked down his $1300 on a brand new guitar there. He then proceeded to march back over to Faust Music, knock on the door again, and proclaim as Faust opened the door, "I just spent $1300 on this over at Warp Drive. Thanks for judging me, asshole." He then left.

Oh jesus. I forgot one of the parts of my experience with him:
After presenting me with the cymbal and stand that i purchased, he reminded me that the proper way to play a cymbal is with small, controlled wrist strokes, and went on to rant about how people these days care more about huge arm strokes and bashing the shit out of their gear and theatrics and etc. etc.
Since i do all these things and used to light my cymbals on fire, i decided it best to smile and nod. Yale and Saara had a hard time not laughing, though.

this Faust guy is classic...
in the early 90's, just moved to milwaukee, i take my '58 green sparkle slingerland in for some minor repairs. i'm told it'll be $30-$50 & will take a few days to a week or 2 due to rare parts. he then gives me a lecture (after his standard crazed rant about what's already been mentioned above in this thread) about how me playing hard rock on my slingerlands with 2Bs is shameful and tells me my set will be destroyed in months. i still play it today...
anyhoo, i follow up repeatedly, weeks pass, he finally tells me he's lost my drum! no big deal really, it was a cheap garage sale purchase, but i really liked it and it was my first decent non tama/pearl snare... he tells me i can have $60 store credit. i tell him to go fuck himself.
a few weeks later i go to see him... my drum is right in the display by his register. it is certainly my snare. he is selling it for $179! i had to be restrained by his occasional door guy. i may have threatened his life... but of course never followed through with that, or got my drum back. i'm waiting to loot his estate sale when he kicks it...
that said, for drum servicing, or any other instrument/gear repair in Mil, Rockhaus Guitars does outstanding work. over the last decade, we've had almost any studio item you can think of serviced there. i'm sure many people here can attest to their work and ethics. great guys.
