Also, Tmidgett's story about a basement show reminded me of when Silkworm played at my friends' basement in South Bend back in 1995. Fun times!
Hey, that was my brother's basement, as well.
That was a great show. Very fun. Ideal house show.

I pray that none of you miss Project Runway because of this show.
I will be watching Project Runway, but that is because the Pit comes to NYC on Saturday, which is a non-Project Runway day.

Alan (in the bitter tears) had his gall bladder removed yesterday. Bottomless Pit volunteered for the job. Thanks Bottomless Pit!

alright, here's my suggestion - bear yr orange T&G25 proudly tonight so those of us like myself who didn't manage to meet any fellow EA frequenters last weekend can recognize each other. if you've already lopped it off, at least you can deduce the rest of us by ours...

ok, how's this? i suggest we all put on huge clown noses & boxer shorts on our head with "don't BOTHER me!" scrawled with a sharpie. and that we get a huge crowd chant going through Cape May's set, repeating "PIT! PIT! PIT! PIT!"...

Someone just pointed me to this post, so I thought I should reply for the record, though I've already spoken to the author directly.
We couldn't reach the promoter by phone or email for several weeks, nor could the booker that set the show up in the first place. No details were confirmed, no money, etc. The show was unconfirmed. We hoped up until the day that someone would get back to us and say yes, please come. We'd certainly have shown up. But sadly we heard nothing — still have heard nothing from the promoter — and we weren’t going out of our way without some assurance.

My friend who goes to law school in Louisville spent all weekend getting his work done just so he could drive up to see her.
She never showed up for the show. No warning, no call, not anything. Show was supposed to start at 9:00 pm, we waited until 11:30 in the rain.
I really hope they are OK and nothing bad happened on the road.
However, the guy that books the club says he saw a van pull up at 7:00pm (which was when they said they'd be there). They even slowed down and looked into the club. He waved and called the soundguy in, but the band never showed up.
The show was booked rather last minute. There was abosultely no promotion whatsoever. Because of this, I sent bulletins out and messages to the local show's list about the show, telling people they should not miss this show. So I'm wondering if they split because there was no promotion. Regardless, it still upsets me deeply that she didn't play. It's not our (the fans') fault if the promoter doesn't do his job.
I stood at the front door and waited, and watched the doorguy explain to the people that came that the headliner hasn't showed up. And although there were only about 20 people that showed up, each and everyone was there to see her, and each and everyone was totally bummed when they heard the news.
Anyhow, I really hope that they are ok . And if they are OK, I hope that there is some explanation for this. Maybe someone on this forum knows what happened?
This is the first time, in the 25 years that this club has been open, that a headliner did not show up without any warning.
