And while I like Shellac hugely, I reckon if the material on The Futurist was any good, they would have released it to the public. No band, no matter how idiosyncratic or perverse, hides their best work by choice. Come on lads, admit it. It's rubbish, isn't it?

I honestly forget where it came from, but I have a stiletto-ankle.

When I listen to it, I think of butterflies and dudes jumping around with giant cups.

I think it's good, but I never listen to it.

What does that mean?

it's good. it's about as good a soundtrack for a modern dance performance as you could hope to hear from a three-person rock band.

if i don't like a gift, i will give it away or sell it instantly and quietly--doing it publicly is another matter. if i like it, i keep it no matter how much it's worth. though it does make me want to get the other copy back from the guy who borrowed it.

it is super great that the recipients' names are circled right on the cover

I like the way I can never understand what the fuck you're on about, but when I read your posts they still make some sort of enjoyable (non)sense.

Um, whatever that means.

Dude, get your capitals and spelling in line before you go on a grammar enforcing rampage.

(P.S. - This board has a spell-check feature...)

:P :D

like i said dude, it's all a function of my laziness.

also, i think my humor is too dry for this board sometimes.

Hey, speaking of Friends of Shellac, what did Steve Melkisethian do for the band? I know he makes amps, and I've bought a lot of stuff from him through his shop,http://www.angela.com, which is pretty rad. Did he build or modify the band's amps or something?

All I know is, his DIY amp building pages are cool and I bought a Voice of America mono amp from him for $40 -- with working NOS tubes -- which I turned into a dead-on Fender Champ clone in a half-hour with some parts I had laying around in my junk bin. His prices kick ass. Also, he mistakenly sent me the wrong jacks once, and rather than wait for me to return the new ones, he sent me the right ones the next day. I like the guy and his biz.

But what's the Shellac connection?
