Weekend World, which is actually Nantucket Sleighride by Mountain. Odd - but rocking - choice for a current affairs show.

That just jerked my brain back 20 odd years... I remember this series being dark and relatively scary.
That inspired me to dig out
Thunderbirds 2086. Not so much a theme as cheesy technical rant in sports announcer stylee. Looking at a 1980's kids' anime vision of the future is fun, though. I note the continuing obsession with fitting machines together to form bigger machines.
