There are some awesome ones.

I'm gonna go with:

Quincy
Ironside
The Prisoner
Match of the Day (probably means nothing to you yanks - the music for the football highlights on a saturday night)
Curb Your Enthusiasm

The theme for the French cartoon "Moi Renart" was just super awesome. The bass line and the backing vocals are great, it's really groovy. You can listen to it there.

I used to LOVE the series as well; It was about that fox guy that was basically always taking the piss at people and cunning everyone by being really canny. All the characters were animals, of course his enemy was a wolf and he had a semi-girlfriend who was a sexy journalist.

Many of my favourites have been mentioned already (especially Taxi and the Rockford files) but I'd also like to add The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe (a show I don't remember but the music takes me back to very early childhood - something that is also true of the deliriously saccharine White Horses).

Doctor Fucking Who - the original Delia Derbyshire treatment is still terrifying and brilliant.

The Dave Allen Show, a monster Alan Hawkshaw groove.

Getting wistful - The 'gallery' music from Take Hart (presented here with visual accompaniment from Roger Moore's eyebrows.)

(Adam - there was a rumour that went around our playground that Rhubarb & Custard - fantastic btw - was performed by Jimi Hendrix!)
