the current marlins team does not have a high team salary. i think that the only player who makes big money is Pudge Rodrigez...

you may be alluding to the 1997 world champion marlins who were owned by wayne huizinga, who ran blockbuster video...he signed a ton of highly paid free agents like bobby bonilla, kevin brown, moises alou and gary sheffield...they won the series and he immediately dismantled the team, since then they've been on the rebound financially...

The '97 Marlins are probably more what I was thinking of. Thank you for clearing it up. Does that Blockbuster guy still own the team? Why did he dismantle it when he obviously paid for what he got?

i dont know what the exact figure is...but he lost a lot of money on that team, so he traded most of the stars away (or let the free agents walk)...he eventually sold the team to new management.
