i've had my eye on the 285 dollar (US) Christie Derby at Hats Plus for a while now. such a lovely lovely hat. but alas, i settled for the 90 dollar (US) Beaver Hat company knock-off. in many ways it does not compare. the Christie is shorter and the brim is narrower.

i was saddened when they closed the basement, but they still have the strange greek man that sits on an old chair in the back that will give you hat advice you never even knew you needed. once he tried to get me to purchase a pirate hat with the very unconvincing line, "everyone looks good in that hat"

my hat size is 7 3/8. pretty average.

I am a champion of the 8 panel "touring" style cap, Also know as a "big apple" or "gatsby" cap.

If I had the $$ I would spring for the Borsalino "Gatsby" in Camel. Very Nice. though I imagine an Italian version of this British Isle design to be a bit unorthodox.

My cheap tweed model is pretty worse-for-wear.

Cheers,

it's true! large-headed luminaries include

bushwick bill of houston's historic fifth ward, noted rapper and midget
paul celan of romanian jewry, greatest poet of 20th century
topper headon of the clash, underrated drummer and junkie
mark e. smith of manchester england, pictured left

my head is freakishly large, and i look ridiculous wearing hats

in the us military where they don't care about such things, i wore all manner of hats and looked stupid most of the time

This is so good! Fellow big heads congregating! This has relieved me so much. My head is COLOSSAL! Sad but true. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one. All you big heads should also include how tall you are. A big guy should have a big head. My head is huge and I'm really short. That's a winning combo, folks. My head is definitely of XL caliber and I guess I'm about 5'8".

Oh well, I guess it could be worse... Happy New Year, everyone. Regardless of head size.

This thread, or the first page of it, reminds me of a Simpsons episode.

There's the Hammock Hut. That's on Third. There's Hammocks 'R' Us. That's on Third, too. You got Put Your Butt There. That's on Third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot. Matter of fact they're all in the same complex. It's the Hammock Complex, down on Third.

7 5/8 hat size. I also have an 18 or 18 1/2" neck. I have a normal sized body for a 6' tall man, other than my freaky neck.

cheers,
