Mismatched knobs. You can see where the corners are that the roundover is wrong and they sit proud and there's a gap at the front. Also think there could be a more elegant way to mount the Perspex plate (small square in each corner and a screw in each? Looks kinda thrown together...almost like he was stoned when he built it. I'm sure it sounds great and is solid. But, yeh, 2k should buy you something that looks like a LOT of care was taken over it IMHO.On a further look, I'm going with 'it aint finished' as, for instance, the preamp tubes only have 1 covered? Still sloppy though.

Knobs aren't "mismatched", he does that w/ volume/gain (chicken heads) vs. EQ. Washer thing is also part of the look:

W/ that few knobs, I kinda feel like probably should abandon the aesthetic for that model and go w/ consistency. And using fender washers for a "look" isn't so great IMO. I agree w/ the folks above that for the price, it should be looking pretty sharp.Totally see the text and that's a bummer. But, just saying that the mismatching of the knobs is intentional and fits w/ his other builds.I know Ben does a lot of the silk screening onsite for the custom models. I'm sure if the customer wasn't happy with it he's have redone it ASAP.

But the knobs make sense here (pointers would cover the small pictograms). The two forms still don't really relate to each other though. It's like arbitrarily using a different typeface. This is minor nitpicking. I'm sorry I mentioned the knobs.

that face plate is gnarly but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just an 'in process' thing and maybe they threw a scrap plate on it just to keep track until a new one was made, given the cabinet is unstained.

I've decided that I don't really have any desire for another normal-scale electric - one day I'll get a fancy Jazzmaster, but that's mostly fetish value. My one weird guitar is enough for me. Any amp I get is going to be substantially similar to my Silvertone, also. So that's something n

I need guitars, basses, amps, effects, a drum kit, and synth stuff. So, no.And though I wish I had more (or any) dough to spend on gear right now, at least I'm not bored.

Everything gets compared to the EGC into the Balls AC30 w/ AlNiCo speakers. Nothing is as perfect as that setup. Each element of that setup is as important as the other elements of that setup. Sometimes I think I keep the other stuff around to prove to myself that there are no alternatives to that setup. Sometimes I want to get rid of all the rest, but I'd just end up buying something else that just sits there while I stick with that setup. I guess the lesson is that being 'gear satisfied' does not cure 'gear neurosis.'
