Audio Science Review is the website of a guy named Amir who some years ago purchased a semi sophisticated software package, a couple of microphones and an interface. It is the center of gravity for the so called "objectivists" of the audiophile world. In their view, measurements tell the story for audio gear, and listening is irrelevant. So if an amp is low in distortion, or a DAC has a great signal to noise ratio, and the frequency response graph looks good, then it is good.
the "Subjectivists" of course feel that the sound of a component is the most important thing, and measurements, while useful, do not tell the whole story. And just because something measures well doesn't mean it plays music well.
