They are damn good.
Also Kyuss if they haven't been mentioned.

Boris - 'Amplifier Worship'. Good, if a little ambient at times.

Surfrider wrote:I have been listening to the OM album near constantly since i got it about 2 months ago. Very nice. Not the greatest album i've ever heard by any means but it's kept me going a while now. It's worth it alone for the photo of them (Al Cisneros and Chris Haikus) on the back of the sleeve. I hear reports that live, they 'out-loud' even the likes of Sunn 0)) et al. Can't wait for them to come over here.

Did you see them last Sunday at Camden Underworld? Was it good?

New Zealand band called Shihad; The first two albums are great, then it all went to shit until the new album Love is the New Hate.

The first album Churn is produced my Jaz Colman from Killing Joke.

The second album Killjoy sounds like Helmet played on telecasters and is one of my "all time...."

Boris will throw you for a loop. 'Amplifier Worship' is super heavy, really metal-ish. pretty good though, i dig it. I have a picturedisc of theirs called "Feedbacker" that starts off how you'd expect, with about 5 minutes of thick drones, then when it kicks in, it sounds like early Pink Floyd playing model T's, then "Akuma no Uta" is about the same, but replace the Pink Floyd with The Stooges or MC5. The recording sounds like went straight to 1/2" 2 track and had the needles pinned from start to finish.

I am definely satisfied with all their records so far.

Theres a lot of these types of bands popping up, it seems, and I'm starting have to raise the threshold on the ole' quality control gate.

I was NOT impressed with big business, or torch, or floor when they came through, but the worst of all of them is Pelican, if you ask me. Sorry to step on any toes, Chicago folks, but their 1st EP is the only thing thats worth a shit, IMO, and they're horrible live. Yawn.

Harvey Milk said they'd have a new record out soon when Blame Game played their reunion show. DEFINETLY look out for that. They were crushing.

I'd give Noxagt a listen. Norwegian, instrumental, bass / drums / viola. 'The Iron Point' is kind of ambient metal, 'Turning it down since 2001' is more conventional structurally. Both are very good. On Load records.
