Kind of more of a random thoughts, but gear-centric:
Am I the only person who wants a guitar with a humbucker bridge and a single coil in the neck? It seems like it.
It's just the perfect combination: big saturated rock in the bridge, and dark spank in the neck.
Makes me want to get another Squire tele and gut that shit.
My bandmate has an EGC500 with a humbucker in the bridge and single coil in the neck and it's a great setup, especially for that guitar where the single coil in the bridge can definitely get too piercing/clanky pretty easily.

So, about that...

I had one of those, it was deeply ehhh for me. I say this as a Squier enthusiast who has around 5 I consider top-line instruments. That one felt like the bad old days of 90s/00s Squier.

Oh my god! This man is my new hero. He's like the Spanish(?) [edit Uruguayo! cooler still!!] Roland Barthes of cheap guitars.
On a more practical note, the lack of three way switch is a deal breaker for me.

I know people like that model in particular but was never a fan of those little Squier jobs. I just don’t see it

if you seek a 'transparent, big' sound from a guitar you already like that's fitted with a humbucking neck pickup, i strongly recommend checking to see if you can wire it up with the coils in parallel, or failing that swap it for one that allows this. i've wired up my frankenstrat (2 dimarzio hot rails) this way & we're very happy.

It's really easy to put a humbucker-in-single-coil form in any standard Fender bridge. I like the Dimarzio Injector because they look like classic single coils, unlike the Duncans that look like shrunken hums.
Also bumping this from the last page, as I know a few of you work with a lot of video/audio..

I've been having issues with video/audio sync'ing lately. Sometimes I'll export the video's audio into Reaper for eq, compression etc and when I recombine them back in iMovie they no longer sync across the whole song. The Thru Zero flange was kinda cool once but it's just pissing me off now.
Is there something about video processing that can alter the time of a file? I can't figure where else it could be coming from.

I'm kind of a video newb so either of these ideas might be dumb:
- Are your Reaper bounces of the audio somehow different in length? If I render a song in a DAW and the file is milliseconds longer I'd never care. That could botch a good looking sync with a video.
- IMovie is easy and handy, but too dumb for your technical demands? DaVinci resolve is free, sophisticated, huge learning curve but has an online community, forums and youtube videos to teach us. So kind of like Reaper for video.

Any reason why Reaper would be changing the length? The speed hasn't been adjusted, and I even turned off a 'tape' plugin I was paranoid about (though further thinking about it: any plugin adding that much time would be worthless in a multitrack scenario).
Also, I don't just mean the file's length, I mean the pace of the audio loses sync with the video. You can see the effect here. Things are sync'd at the start but by about 2:30, there's a noticeable delay in the video compared to the audio.
I need to try this again but without any visual effects filters along the way, in case that's processing the video slightly longer for some reason.
I should check out DaVinci though. Visual 'content' was never my interest but I've definitely outgrown iMovie.

I think you said you didn’t mess with speed but just in case I missed something, you didn’t change metronome tempo, did you? I recently fucked up a video sync by changing BPM
