Their new record is good, way more poppy and straightforward than anything previous but if you were a fan like I am you would have known exactly what was coming and would embrace it as I have.
They are trying out some different things, sure. I trust their judgement completely and will support them no matter what.
Some of you are just sexist and can't cope with two women geniuses completely shattering the very soul of music itself, then picking up the pieces and building strange beautiful sounds unlike anything ever heard before.
This is radical shit, it's spossed to piss the squares off.

Holy shit. Such shit. So shitty I will hazard the guess that it's intentional. I am impressed that they've creatively redefined the boundaries of shit so many times on a single record. It's profound. This is not exactly a criticism. I get a masochistic pleasure from the album. It makes me feel better about my own aborted musical misadventures.
I think CocoRosie has sabotaged their career with this move. I think they'll therefore be remembered as unappreciated geniuses in 20 years, and will then reunite for Coachella 2030.
I don't care if this record is a hoax or a legitimate effort thwarted by self-indulgence. I want this band to keep making awful music because it is somehow so CRAP it is NOT CRAP. The sheer amount of missteps proves some incomprehensible understanding of music.

I know absolutely nothing about this band, other than their propensity for drawing permanent-marker mustaches on each other, which is pretty cool since that always reminds me of Shannon Selberg. But everything I've heard about their music leads me to believe that the Cows bear no resemblance to CocoRosie.
