The officials are refusing to give in to the demands of the crowd to end this brutality, they have absolutely refused to even consider declaring some sort of draw or tie. They have promised there will be a winner! They will fight to the death no matter how long it takes.

WHo the fuck still hasn't voted at this point. The only way the numbers keep moving have to be from the phantom accounts some of you have.

I haven't voted.

Why? Because I have not listened to enough Fugazi yet to make an informed decision, and probably need to listen to more Jesus Lizard too.

This is the show I think of when I think of Fugazi even though I've seen them be brilliant maybe seven times after that night. The idea that they can control a group of wild kids that large with logic and reason and decency and still just scorch live? awesome.

I too was at this show and was equally awed by the sight of 500 punk rockers sitting down they like they were in a gradeschool assembly. (I decided I had to walk up and stand right next to the side of the stage for the rest of the show though. No way i'm sitting down for Fugazi, just cuz two dunderheads can't keep their testosterone in check).

That said,

i haven't voted yet either so here it is...

I love both bands, saw em both live, etc.
I'm approaching this decision like so: If each band's music was anthropomorphized into an orgasm, which band's music would provide the better orgasm?

I'd have to say that...It would be the music of...

Wow. Great thread.

The Jesus Lizard is the greater rock band. Unadulterated, sleazy, sweaty rock. Fugazi isn't even on the same level with that regard.

But Fugazi has, in my opinion, the better discography from beginning to end, each subsequent album seemingly demolishing the one that preceded it.

Nowadays, I listen to the Jesus Lizard much more than I do Fugazi.

But Fugazi exposed me to a different musical environment.
