saw them at a gig about a week or so ago and to be honest, for a band that has a reputation for 'bringing it' live, they were quite boring and by the numbers to these ears...

As someone who has been exposed to countless Atlanta bands over the past decade and only liked one (BLAME GAME!), I am surprised to find that I really like this.

New album out today, Microcastle. Only listened once so I haven't formed an opinion...pieces of it are really cool, others are not. Never understood how these guys got on Kranky. Not forming completes sentences today, apparently.

I might be able to see them for free on Halloween, I think they're playing with Pylon. Think I should go?
I've only heard a few songs that sounded kind of bland, is their live performance as stellar as everyone says? My other option is trick-or-treating for beer.

Their first album was ok, had some nice Spacemen 3-like moments. I really like the bass sound on that record more than anything else.
Their ep, Flourescent Grey is awesome though. Probably because it's only 4 songs.
I've gone through their new record about 4 times and it does nothing for me.
I haven't read any of their press, so I don't have that to go on (thank God).
CRAP WF: Bass sound/decent ep.
