I've never played and ECG, but I'd imagine this isn't true...considering the difference in scale length, fretboard material and neck attachment. All huge factors in determining the tone of an instrument.

your right its not true. to say there is no difference is such a stupid thing to say that im gonna 'bitch' (voice a different opinion) again. i like my egc, ive got more of a problem with the people on here than the guitar. they remind me of sheep. honestly its like comparing a strat to a jazzmaster and saying you get the same tone because they are both made of wood. i think i get pissed with these stupid fucks on here because if you actually play an egc and a 500, they have so many differences that you cant compare the two at all. i think it was very shrewed calling the egc 500 as it has got everyone here bumming the guitar thinking they'll get a 500 thats a vast improvement. construction wise it most certainly is. set up, sound, feel different story - its not the same! good/bad is not relevant. why would bring up these points if i didnt mean it? what the fuck do i gain? ive come to accept my egc for it is and not go around telling everyone its the better than a 500, i just say its a great guitar and nothing like a bean. should be called the custom veleno. if you prefer the egc great for you, i couldnt give a fuck, i think thats great. im still allowed to say what i think of the guitar. dont read my fucking post if you want to keep blowing your egc. great guitar but stop comparing it to the 500 - they are nothing a like. and once again just to clear things up i have nothing but respect for kevin, the guy owns, and im ordering a baritone as soon as i can afford it. i just hate most of you fan boy motherfuckers. you do exactly what i do just the otherside of the fence.

i will try not to get into another moan for at least 3 weeks.

I have a couple of 500s and an EGC. They're pretty much the same guitar other than the neck profile.

They sound about the same, except for one of the 500s with heavily modified pickups.

If you like Travis Bean 500s, you'll like the EGC500 unless you get hung up on the neck.

I give much more credit to your word than to Holmes', maybe is it because I tried Souvaris guitarist's TB 500, that he also owns an EGC 500 and that we both agreed the EGC was better.

Plus, Holmes, I don't get why you are so aggressive about this.

Did the EGC show up anywhere on Excellent Italian Greyhound?

I think Kevin's P90s are a little louder than the stock travis bean pickups.
I prefer the neck on the EGC and I prefer the metal fretboard. Otherwise, they're pretty the same (besides the constructive difference that kevin designed).

I thought I was going to hate the neck when I first heard how thin it was. I was used to playing Nocaster style necks (1" with no taper), but the EGC neck is awesome. After about 10-15 minutes of playing it the size/shape didn't bother me at all, it's actually very comfortable.
