Dig!

This was really good, even though I disliked the music of both bands.

And of course, Die Hard.

Grey Gardens is huge.

On Any Sunday

That one about Hank Greenberg is cute. EDIT: I take that back, it is quite a bit more than a circle jerk.

The Ken Burns Civil War / Baseball ones

Hail, Hail Rock n' Roll

The making of the Metallica Black Album

My roommate was hired to help film a pilot for a reality show based on Mike and Mark that the producers hoped to shop to Comedy Central. Cleverly titled The Mark & Mike Show, the pilot that was filmed followed our two heroes through the leadup to Mike's wedding(!), as well as the wedding itself. The stories my roommate came back with from that shoot were ridiculous. If you ever wanted to see the stars of American Movie on their knees, blindfolded at Mike's bachelor party, while a stripper whipped them across the ass and demanded they yell "I'M A SINNER!" over and over, then hope that someone eventually picks this sucker up.

Me, i'm not holding my breath. Word is the studio execs passed because it didn't focus on Mark trying to make another movie. ::headdesk::

Keeping it to a minimum:

-Alain Resnais, Night and Fog

-Anonymously Yours

-To Be and To Have

-Chris Marker, One Day in the Life of Andrei Arsenevitch

Think this was done before, at greg's request, so maybe look for that thread as well.

The Ramones documentary, "End of the Century", was completely mind-blowing to me. I should really purchase this.

"We Jam Econo" was great, too, though I think the subject matter makes it easy to make a compelling film.

Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends: Porn

Documentary on the male actors in pornographic film. It's pretty interesting/sad/funny.
