1984 JCM 800 100W
Yup. That's pretty much a 50 or 100 watt JMP with a facelift (Usually w/ EL 34's). I prefer the older face...They're out there.
800's sound great w/ 6550's.
The good Marshalls are really just the Fender Bassman's little brothers. But little brother went to the gym more.
I had a great Bandmaster, but I kept blowing it up, awww...Still, a great first amp, even if I did miss the thrill of owning a Peavy.

500 bucks? If you like the way it sounds and it's in good shape (i.e. it works), buy it. You'll wanna ask him if he's done any maintenance on it; if not, you'll probably want to replace the filter caps and have the power tubes tested. That said, that's a pretty good price for that era head and cab.

If I could only have one amp, it'd be the Mesa MK II. Most tweakable, Rivera M-60. Getting the most use lately, Randall RM-50 and various modules.
