Terrible news about what Kelly has done to his family and sad that the bar surrounding these situations is so low that I feel a sense of relief when a band whose music I love has an appropriate response.

Several people have commented already that Kelly's wife and kids could probably use good wishes and support right now. Of course their privacy is important and I would not want to infringe, but if there's any kind of organized effort to help them out, please share that info.

This has just reminded me of the old gofundme, which now feels stomach-churning.
Of course, if anything similar is set up for the family in the now, it can have the shirt off my back.

The band's response to this is in complete opposition to that of Daughters, whose singer is also a massive piece of shit. Fuck that entire band.

I feel like it's not just Daughters, and bands, venues and scenes often jump to the abuser's defense in situations like this. Hopefully that's changing.
I'd also donate to Kelly's wife and kids.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my impression is that several years ago a lot of people tacitly agreed, for whatever reasons, not to hold Michael Gira accountable, and to accept his version, i.e. that the woman who said he raped her is "crazy." No?

It might be simply that it was resolved in private....It doesn't even get a mention on Wikipedia entry for Swans,, Gira or his accuser. It was a little on the #metoo cusp...but you would think it would only get more traction after that ball got rolling.
