People ranting about YHF lead me to download a bunch of their earlier shizzle a few years back. I thought it was wicked boring, but I think I should give it a second chance someday. Not today.

You have a point. Likewise, NOT CRAP.

Be glad for small mercies, though: over here, when we get Dad Rock, we get Cast and Ocean Colour Scene.
You just made me remember two awful bands this group of brothers, who I knew in Baltimore, tried to convince me were great.

I apologize. This was inappropriate material to drop on someone with so little warning.

Most of my friends at school loved these bands.
At least you didn't mention Shed Seven.

You know, there used to be 12 of them, but they were so bad that they had to...

On topic: I saw the Burn To Shine performance that Connor mentions above and thought it very fine. They are not going scorch your ears with innovation, but the songs and arrangements are good, and just very occasionally intense. I realise where this is going: bring on the quality Dad Rock.

Personally, I love the Wilco. Jeff Tweedy writes really good songs, and the current line-up of the band is flat-out brilliant -- see 'em live and prepare to be amazed. Myself, I like both the twang and post-rock eras (yes, you can like Uncle Tupelo and Sonic Youth at the same time, dammit), and Being There doesn't get nearly enough credit for its ecclecticism and willingness to fuck with formula. I don't know if Yankee Hotel Foxtrot would have gotten the same sort of reviews without the Warner Bros. fiasco, but it's still a fine record. And I'm liking Sky Blue Sky very much. A consistently pleasuable and talented act ... not crap.

Pitchfork.com=Crap
The term "dad rock" which they coined = Crap

My Dad does in fact rock. He turned me on to Led Zep, and a ton of other kick ass bands. He also took me to see Motley Crue when i was a wee lad. So my Dad rocks.

I now am a Dad...and I rock.

Any band that has Nels Cline, and Glenn Kotche is alright by me. That aside I was not interested in Wilco's earlier efforts. (AM / Being There) Everything since Summerteeth has been quite good. Great recordings, Great mixing, Great songs. Yeah the new record is chill and thats a good thing.

Wilco = Not Crap

Regarding the new record, I've liked what I've heard so far.

you guys are fucking retarded, Wilco is terrible
it's for boring old farts by boring old farts, where is your dignity?

Seriously, just go ahead and buy a John Couger Mellencamp greatest hits record for the car while you are at it
Throw out your punk records and start really getting into The Dead
fucking Wilco
what a joke
it's not far off from Hootie and the blowfish or the counting crows, seriously it's not
The only difference is those bands were actually able to write a hit at some point

you people need to start taking a good hard look at your standards as far as rock music goes
this is the shit that sucks
we should all hate this shit
it sounds like urine dripping from an old man's limp shriveled cock into a bed of leaves
