Left my last job at the end of September and didn't think I would find another remote job before the end of the year. It really is a terrible time to be looking but somehow I lucked out and was recently given a job offer.
Nice! Congratulations!
Grazi! and good luck to those looking for work.

I hate my company RN. They have been slowly stripping us of our benefits for the last half a year on a monthly basis. No more remote work, no more flexible working hours, there have been talks of cutting our monthly bonus, that is not that big to begin with (83 dollars metric). They are actively upping the pressure on the working force to leave the company on their own as the backhanded downsizing is their current HR policy.
I just feel exhausted from this new age capitalism.

Are you unionized?

We are, but the unions keep getting "beat" in negotiations, which would indicate to me that they are pocketed. Sadly.

Speak to your shop steward. If enough of you are pissed off they should take notice.

I got lucky and found a job. Offer came in 3 weeks to the day after losing the last one. Started last week, a little over 6 weeks after losing it. Very similar position, more pay and PTO, and filled with ex employees of my last company including a guy hired when I was who got laid off when I did! Also a guy who used to work for one of my old clients. Now we are on the same team.
I am grateful and fully aware of how lucky I got. Best of luck to the rest of you who are looking.

Just putting out the feelers for my husband, not on the forum. 35+ years experience in hospitality management and technology. Looking for anything where this experience may be applicable. Recently did some independent consulting work in the field. Remote would be fantastic, but definitely not necessary. Chicago based.
Thanks!
Damn, these mind fuck personality tests they make you fill out, where there's no right answer...really sick stuff. Glad to be self employed, I tell you what.

Asking the same question with multiple phrasings to catch you in a lie if you answer one differently

Man oh Manischevitz, got blindsided with being laid off, today.
I'm on the market if anyone's looking for a drummer/drum tech/IT Helpdesk Manager/Technical Writer. Shit came out of the blue.
The bummer is that I was completely remote and was super ok with the way things were going, but I don't think the company was ready to have a remote employee. So, last in, first out. Sucks.
