Come on, the Jesus Lizard wrote one good song, and wrote it often. There, I said it.

no, they wrote 3 or 4 and wrote those often.

fugazi wrote like 2 songs over and over. not to mention the completely embarrassingly bad ones.

no shit. this just can't be. how that 'not great' band can be over 'great, one of a kind' band like jesus lizard. jesus lizard rules, fugazi is f-ing boring.

While I have no personal sense of doubt that tJL are obviously prefereable and objectively more talented than Fugazi (as musicians), I am surprised that, 10 years or so after the Lizard got chloroformed, they are holding so well against Fugazi, a band with its own label, a fair number of productive years that followed the Lizard's demise, and an 'easier' sound to digest.

Because of the nature of this board, I suppose that I initially thought that tJL would prevail. This is the only board on the planet where that would be true, and it isn't necessarily the case after all.

Both great bands. Hope that they will both continue to inspire this kind of tortured dithering for years to come.

Because compared to Fugazi, TJL were a one trick pony. :D
