No, no, no, no, no! The chorus is only a small part of this song. The five-and-a-half minute whole is honestly one of my favourite pieces of music, more intricate and soulful than it ever gets credit for. The verses feature a beautiful and considered guitar, and some of the lyrics are funny. 'Sex in the Kitchen' is (quite rightly) quoted above; '...sexy' can happily be removed from this shameful list.
Big shout out to the Jermaine Stewart lyrics. 'Would you like to taste my wine?'
From memory, some of Ray Parker Jr's 'Sex and the Single Man' (from the album of the same name):
Ray Parker Jr wrote:Sex and the single man!
Situation outta hand!
It's tough being a single man
in a world with so many women (beautiful women)
Sex and the single man!
I live alone, Beverley Hills
trying to fight off temptation
I don't wanna do wrong
but I'm all alone
I try hard to listen to
the angel on my shoulder
but I hear on my left
the voice of death
saying: do it, do it, do it
Also, by the awesome Richard 'Dimples' Fields, is the full seven minutes of slow, slow late eighties soul that is 'I Want To Sleep In Your Body Tonight'.
'I Want To Sleep In Your Body Tonight'
'I Want To Sleep In Your Body Tonight'
'I Want To Sleep In Your Body Tonight'
Christ. Sorry, women.
