That would be
"Every Picture Tells A Story" by Rod Stewart.
It's nice to meet up with old friends!
This record has been giving me a lot of please recently as well.
Also The New Year's
The End is Near, Nina Nastasia's
Dogs, and the new Uzeda. All great records!

i know he's a big favorite for a lot of people, but i can't help but think that he's a big hack, and up until a few days ago i don't think i ever enjoyed anything he did. i guess it's just all subjective. or maybe it was the situation in which i listened to the record.

also i think some of his lyrics on heartbreaker are plain stupid. if you're going to try and capture an era, try not to insert dumb ass shit like 'fuck me up, steal my records', especially when you're capable of writing/using lyrics like 'when you're young, you get sad, you get high' which is pretty much perfect

Spencer/Dickinson - it's a Jon Spencer side project that was a Japan-only release a few years ago, now available in the US.
It's pretty much a throwaway, which means it's really great Jon Spencer - reminds me of the crazier stuff he did on the first few JSBX albums. The CD version is called "The Man Who Lives For Love" for some reason.
