the most key thing to my winter attire is a "head-sokz" brand head/neck warmer. it's basically a scarf and hood all in one. it completely fucking rules, and for some reason nobody I know has one except me. I actually saw them for sale at Sears this year, but other than that haven't really come across many. highly, highly recommended.

my winter gear is normally like this:

winter hat (Chicago Bears circa 70's)
gloves with thinsulate
head-sokz neck/face warming device
hooded sweatshirt + winter coat
Columbia winter boots

Just this week, a couple days ago, I wore this rig for some outdoor walking... about a 15 minute walk each way. According to weather.com, the temp was "10 degrees, feels like -4". Yeah, Fahrenheit. If it was any colder, I would've needed to wear the flannel-lined jeans that only get busted out when it's murderously cold, which is almost never.

get the head-sokz warming dealy. everybody who lives somewhere cold should have one, and it seems like nobody does. WTF?!?!

There are less disgruntled and surly airline employees now that Eastern is out of business.

To begin, I should say that I am constantly cold. In Atlanta in the summer if I am in the shade I am probably a little too chilly. Needless to say winter proves a difficult task, but one that I have come to master.

For sleeping: T-shirt sheets, wool blanket, down comforter, quilt, heat radiators in the form of dog and boyfriend.

For living: Portable space heater for under my desk at work accompanied by sitting next to the heat vent... in the summer covering the ac vent. Tights, knee socks under jeans or boots. Padded bra for extra warmth layer, t-shirt, cardigan, warm coat. Hat, always. Mittens, usually. Scarf, always.

For car: Heater on at 90 degrees when driving. Blast it on your feet to toast instantly.
