I'm 99% sure Chino Moreno said he was a huge Hum fan. It was an old interview I read, probably in the nineties.Hairy Caul wrote: Thu Apr 03, 2025 3:52 am When I was first introduced to Hum (way too late in my life), it completely changed how I view the Deftones because I liked Hum so much more, yet Deftones was wildly more successful; I felt--still feel, I suppose--that the Deftones owe quite a bit to Hum.
I've read at least one interview with Chino where he bristled at the comparison to Hum then went on to diss Matt Talbott's singing, and I'm thinking to myself, "who the fuck are you to criticize how someone sings?"
They have some pretty good songs, but most of the members sounds like complete assholes.
Lot of people don't care about Talbott's singing, I can understand that, but for me it's perfectly fine.
I was listening to Electra2000 for the zillionth time yesterday. Never get tired of it. How could they let Diffuse out of it initiallly? It's probably the best track by any band, ever.
