Yep. That's the one, though I'd say it dates back to Lenny Bruce in the '60s.

Comedy is art. It's different.

Who would you rather hear speak on race relations for 2 hours? Who do you think would be more likely to get through to people? Who would you take more seriously as actually knowing what the fuck he's talking about?

A young comedian or an old professor?

Depends on which person knew their subject better.

I'd much rather listen to Noam Chomsky, for example, speak on the language of racism and oppression then Carlos Mencia. But I think that Mencia "gets through" to more people because many don't have the attention span for Chomsky. Of course that doesn't make Mencia more right, it just means he has more popular appeal. I personally think he's an irritating idiot.

I don't object to Lisa Lampanelli using racism as a topic for comedy BTW, I object to her being annoying and unfunny.

Chomsky or George Carlin. A little more equal as far as raw intelligence goes. Who would you rather hear speak on 'the langauge of racism and oppression' or whatever hoodie doody name ya wanna give it for 2 hours?

Tough call. Carlin was definitely much more entertaining, but Chomsky's ideas are better-developed.

Imagine Carlin and Chomsky in a panel discussion... That I'd like to see.

Issues of race in the arts is a valid topic. I'm pretty sure there's already at least one thread about it somewhere around here.

I'm pretty sure Mandroid is an artist of some sort. So she's off the hook.

What about a sandwich artist at Subway?
What if he hands someone a sandwich and says 'Here's your foot long turkey club, you Mexican piece of shit'?
Is that offensive or does that promote racial healing?

Why did he feel it necessary to state the nationality of the club sandwich?
