Really Good Beers

421
Has anyone ever had Thomas Hardy's Ale? A friend of mine spotted it in town a while back, but didn't try it. I've been wondering if it's any good. Seems amusing.

My favorites are nothing new or special, just standard beer lover picks: hoegaarden, chimay, anchor steam, the lambics, corsendonk, etc. The Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh was one of my favorite beer spots--scarfing down pierogi pizza (!!) in wooden pews and gazing at gigantic vats of beer brewing on an altar. Plus, their dunkel weizen was hands down one of the most delicious microbrewed beers I've ever tasted. Same goes for Primanti Brothers' Special Dark--both 'burgh beers were rich and chocolatey. My boyfriend at the time doesn't even like beer but he loved both of them. Yum.
i don't wanna post any more comments 'cause if i do my status will no longer be "courtesan."

It's a pretty good barley wine, with fancy packaging and a matching price tag. An excellent winter beer. I couldn't drink more than a couple, being so sweet and > 11% ...

... probably, though I ought to test that.
