i completely agree. that was only the second episode i've seen all season because of work and i was extremely surprised that it was actually funny. i thought perhaps 13 years of catholic school were why i liked it but i'm glad to see someone else enjoyed it as well.

well, shit. maybe it was but i enjoyed the hell out of it.

What's not to like?

OK, the kids can be hit or miss, and they do the flashback thing a little too often, but it rides the crude/intelligent line beautifully.

Not crap. At first I really hated this show, even though it did get a laugh or two out of me. Last night I saw the episode where Brian becomes a coke addict. So fucking funny.

the basic thing with family guy is that they do throw about 3 jokes per minute via flashbacks or really bizzare dialogue, but most of the time, they stick...

i honestly nearly shit my pants when they did that flashback to the snorks on a date, where the female snork bends over to clean up her spilled wine...so cheap, so fucking obvious, yet so funny.

This show is pretty overrated in my opinion. A bunch of mediocre jokes loosely strung over a mediocre plot is not what I call good television. Crap.

I've seen pretty much all of Family Guy, except perhaps some of the really recent ones, it has its moments, but is essentially entirely based on parody, yeah I know there are very few stories left (perhaps none), but I'm bored by parody. Its pretty lowest common denominator, and you can talk about its offensive nature, but South Park does it much better (IMO), its wittier, sharper and more on the ball than family guy.

So I'd say Family Guy is crap with a few good moments.
