For a band that I was recently introduced to, The Thermals. The first record and the new one are the business.

Uzeda's new album is like someone walking by you in the office and knocking over a cup of hot coffee into your lap. And I mean that in a good way.

I was fortunate enough to see Seam's set at the T & G 25th, which got me into them. Picked up The Pace is Glacial , which is quite good.

I think this might be the greatest record pound for pound I've ever heard in my life.

And this: Please Stay - Cryin' Shames... put a rock in my guts and sent my skin all-a-shingle. Fuck me!

Thank you mr Boom, sir.

Wow.

I state here, as well, that the new Shearwater record, Palo Santo, is superb.

let me think.

i've been tidying my house pretty much every day to the sound of those new bottomless pit tracks. that's pretty exciting for obvious reasons. the new make believe album is crazy beefheart 'fuzz' meets shellac 'crunch' and i'm enjoying it an awful lot. otherwise, brazilian girls, yo la tengo, ratatat, nina nastasia and phil ochs are all rocking my boat right now.

I have been listening to Gary Walker and the Rain a bunch for the last few weeks. A compilation of their singles and one album.

The Bottomless Pit ep has been in pretty heavy rotation as well.

The two new Lazar Wolf songs "Spiderbeat" and "Catalog of Devils".

Salut, Krystfosky! You play guitar like a madman!

Come October, you will make Stinking Lizaveta cry!

the only time i've seen make believe was in this overcrowded dump in the les during cmj. the lead singer basically pile-drove the audience constantly, and we all loved it. drawers were dropped, beer was smashed, lots of flinching, it was so sweaty and nuts... later, as i left, i saw the lead singer sitting in the alley rocking back and forth and talking to himself, holding his stomach.

i really like make believe.

they are amazing live as well.

Have you heard "American Folk Horror" and "X Patriot" (recorded at Electrical)? I personally like both those records more than "Rally Day". Pretty definitive music for my time here in Bellingham.

Hmmm....most recently?

Ironically enough, it was Radio Birdman. I'd never even heard of them until a buddy of mine, excited about their impending tour because he'd been a long-time fan, told me about their NYC show. I was a convert after that.
